however, we did get away from friday to sunday. we went to huntington beach and stayed at the beautiful hyatt regency huntington beach resort and spa (http://huntingtonbeach.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp) here is a picture of a statue that cash loved to look at while we were unloading and loading the car. he loved it!
we spent friday strolling around the little beach town and ended up having dinner at a small barbeque dive restaurant that was in a strip mall. at first we were a little put off but then realized it was the perfect place to take cash for dinner since it was very family friendly, not fancy and quick. the food was great too!
cash loved this phone - just think - he doesn't even really know what this is used for!

we had a great time watching the sun set on friday night and were able to get some great pictures...
saturday we went hiking at crystal canyon state park. it was a beautiful hike in newport beach. jason got quite the workout with an extra 21 pounds + the pack on his back!
with the exception of me getting sick on saturday we had a great time and believe this may be our "raleigh hotel" out west. cash didn't seem to mind just hanging out in the hotel room for much of saturday night.
